Just east of Vancouver, the Fraser Valley follows the Fraser River through a patchwork of farming communities and mountain-framed countryside. Though it often flies under the radar compared with better-known B.C. food destinations like Metro Vancouver and the Okanagan, the Fraser Valley is emerging as a culinary destination in its own right. Fertile soils and a mild coastal climate support berry fields, vegetable farms, dairy producers, and livestock operations supplying fresh ingredients to local restaurants, independent cafes, and neighborhood bakeries.
Depending on your destination, the Fraser Valley is around 45 minutes to two hours from Vancouver by car, making it an easy choice for a day trip or a relaxed weekend getaway. Visit Langley, Abbotsford, and Chilliwack for farm-to-table dining, seasonal markets, and fruit picking in the warmer months, or spend an afternoon exploring the region’s homegrown drinks scene. Pair your stops with a scenic drive or a hike, or build your itinerary entirely around eating and drinking well.
Here’s where to go and what to try.

The Fraser Valley’s closest gateway from Vancouver, Langley is about a 45-minute drive east of the city, making it an easy first stop for exploring the region’s food scene. The area encompasses both Langley City, its compact urban center, and the larger Township of Langley, where you’ll find farms and wineries.
Delphi Cafe
Ease into the day at this warm, casual spot, where an expansive menu covers breakfast favorites, sandwiches, pasta, and burgers. The main draw at Delphi Cafe is the lengthy eggs Benedict lineup, which ranges from classic ham and honey bacon to cured salmon, grilled shrimp, smoked duck breast, and pulled pork.
Nopo Korean Noodle
Settle in at Nopo Korean Noodle for a comforting bowl of kal-guksu, traditional Korean knife-cut noodles served in savory broth. The homestyle menu also features oversized mandu, or Korean dumplings, generously filled with pork, kimchi, or a combination of both.
Krause Berry Farms & Estate Winery
Get a taste of Langley’s agricultural roots at the family-run Krause Berry Farms & Estate Winery, which has been operating since 1974. Depending on the season, head into the fields to pick blueberries, golden raspberries, peaches, or cherries, then browse the farm market for jams, syrups, and other house-made goods. The bakery turns farm ingredients into pies, cookies, breads, and shortcakes, while the popular waffle bar is a sweet stop between activities. You can also sample fruit wines at the estate winery and enjoy casual bites such as pizza and nachos.
Abbotsford

Abbotsford is one of Canada’s most productive agricultural communities, offering plenty of ways to sample the region’s flavors while getting a closer look at the growers and food producers behind the Fraser Valley’s bounty.
Restaurant 62
For a memorable meal rooted in the Fraser Valley’s agricultural riches, book a table at Restaurant 62. The kitchen transforms locally sourced produce, meats, and other regional ingredients into contemporary Pacific Northwest dishes with polished presentation and careful attention to detail. Although the menu changes with the seasons, you might find items such as scallops with risotto, smoked pork chops, or octopus.
Lou’s Grill
A neighborhood fixture since 1991, Lou’s Grill is the place to go when you’re craving comfort food in a laid-back setting. The extensive menu covers all the classics, including burgers, steaks, barbecue ribs, and pasta.
Ann Marie’s Cafe
Sink into a red vinyl booth at Ann Marie’s Cafe, a retro diner serving hearty breakfasts and generous helpings of old-fashioned comfort food. The menu spans from eggs Benedict and omelets to pancakes, burgers, and sandwiches. Black-and-white checkerboard floors and vintage photographs and memorabilia give the space a nostalgic 1950s feel. Round out your meal with a classic milkshake for the full diner experience.
Maan Farms
Make time for Maan Farms, where the family-run operation produces wines from fruit grown on the property—including strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries—and offers seasonal U-pick experiences as well as baked goods from its country kitchen. You can also try goat yoga, take a spin on the pedal go-kart track, or visit the petting zoo. Stop at Mama Maan’s Kitchen for homestyle, Indian-inspired fare, like a butter chicken bowl and veggie samosas, plus seasonal farm treats.
Chilliwack

Further east, Chilliwack pairs the Fraser Valley’s food scene with easy access to mountains and lakes, making it an inviting base for a getaway that combines regional flavors with time outdoors.
Little Beetle
Settle into a table at Little Beetle, a local brunch favorite where dark wood furnishings, tiny mosaic floor tiles, and cream-colored walls create a modern vintage aesthetic. The menu puts a playful spin on breakfast classics, including avocado toast, French toast, and the cafe’s signature croffles, a croissant-waffle hybrid served sweet with berries and crumble or savory with crispy buttermilk-fried chicken.
Fiesta Loca
Family-run Fiesta Loca serves up a menu that goes beyond the usual tacos and nachos, with enchiladas, flautas, and other regional Mexican specialties. Colorful paper banners and Mexican-inspired artwork set a festive cantina mood, while generous portions mean you won’t leave hungry. The chimichangas are a standout: flour tortillas stuffed with meat, beans, cheese, and rice, fried until crisp, and topped with sour cream, pico de gallo, and more cheese. Save room for tres leches cake to finish.
Bravo Restaurant & Lounge
Head to downtown Chilliwack’s Bravo Restaurant & Lounge for an elevated night out and inventive Pacific Northwest cuisine. The menu changes regularly, but you might find dishes like seared steelhead, braised beef pappardelle, or Pacific snapper with mussels. Sustainability is woven into the kitchen’s approach, from growing much of its own produce and foraging for ingredients to composting food scraps and serving Ocean Wise-certified seafood.
Farmhouse Brewing Co.
For a laid-back afternoon of small-batch beer and wood-fired pizza, make your way to Farmhouse Brewing Co. in Chilliwack’s Greendale area. Surrounded by farmland and mountain views, the brewery has an indoor tasting lounge, a covered patio, picnic-style outdoor seating, and a fire pit that’s made for lingering with friends. The beer lineup ranges from hazy IPAs and pilsners to lagers, golden ales, and seasonal releases. Pair a pint with a wood-fired pizza or charcuterie board to share. For an easy-drinking option, try the slightly sweet Corn Lager.
