Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian have been one of the most talked-about couples in sports and entertainment this year, but the seven-time Formula 1 world champion has rarely said much about the relationship publicly. That changed a bit this weekend.
While in Austin, Texas, for the United States Grand Prix, the Ferrari driver opened up about spending time with Kardashian’s four children. He also revealed that he got the kids a special gift this year: a new puppy.
Hamilton And Kardashian
Hamilton was first linked to Kardashian back in February, and the two have since been spotted together at several events, including in Singapore earlier this month.
Kardashian shares four children with ex-husband Kanye West: North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7. Hamilton has been seen with the kids in several photos shared on social media.
Kardashian recently opened up about her dating life in an interview with The Times, saying that she was “really single for five years” after her split from West.
“That felt great. I could focus on my kids and projects that I really wanted to be involved with. I really felt no rush,” Kardashian told The Times.
But when it came to Hamilton specifically, Kardashian said she’d “probably rather not” talk about him, according to TMZ.
‘Halo Has Been A Member Of That Family’
Hamilton, on the other hand, was a bit more open about their relationship when speaking at an event this weekend.
Speaking on the Fan Zone stage at the U.S. Grand Prix, Hamilton was asked what brings him joy outside of racing.
“Well, my niece and nephew always give me a lot of happiness,” Hamilton said, via Just Jared. “My girlfriend’s kids, I love spending time with them. She’s got four, so I’m getting to play with these kids.”
Hamilton then revealed a gift that he recently got Kardashian’s kids: a puppy.
“I got them a dog this year. Halo has been a member of that family,” Hamilton said.
Halo is a golden retriever puppy, according to TMZ. A dog that appears to be Halo showed up in an Instagram post that Hamilton shared in September.
The gift likely carries some extra meaning for Hamilton, who lost his own beloved dog, Roscoe, last year, according to E! News.
Clearly, Hamilton has already found a way to win over Kardashian’s kids.
