When is Reading Festival?
Taking place simultaneously with its sister festival in Leeds, Reading Festival happens over the August Bank Holiday weekend – starting Wednesday 21st to Sunday 25th August 2024.
The stellar line-up includes headliners Blink-182, Fred Again.. and Liam Gallagher.

Travel to Reading Festival by train
Reading train station is the nearest station to the festival site. From here it’s a 20-minute walk or a 5-minute taxi ride.
There are many routes to Reading from major cities by train. The direct train from London Paddington to Reading takes just 25-minutes, from Bristol to Reading the journey is 1h 17m and from Oxford to Reading it’s just 36m.
Extra services to and from Reading station will be put on during the event.
Due to it being a busy weekend over a Bank Holiday, it’s advisable to book tickets in advance. Also note that the last train of the night is always popular with day ticket holders, so you may wish to leave earlier. In any case, it’s advisable to give yourself an hour to get to the station during this busy period.
Travel to Reading Festival by bus
If you’re considering travelling by coach, you’ll be pleased to know that the festival has teamed up with the Big Green Coach company. They are the only authorised bus service allowing drop off and collection on site.
The Big Green Coach company will be putting on exclusive coach transfers from all corners of the UK directly to Reading Festival this summer. Prices vary, but a £10 deposit is required to reserve your seat. The cost for a return ticket from London Victoria station starts from £50.
How do I get tickets?
At the time of writing, weekend and day tickets are available, with weekend tickets starting from £325 and day tickets starting from £115. Please check the official website for the latest availability.
Overnight camping is available for weekend ticket holders only. Due to high demand, only ticket holders should make the journey to the festival to avoid disappointment.
What should I bring?
It’s wise to pack for all eventualities with the uncertainty of the British weather. Make sure you have a look at the weather forecast in the days leading up to the festival weekend and pack appropriately!
If rain is expected, then wellies are advisable, and even in the heat, boots and trainers offer the best protection for your feet. Be sure to bring wipes, medicines and sun cream, as well as a bottle of water to refill and stay hydrated.
