Costco’s Kirkland Cherry and Fig Bread Returns as a Must-Try Seasonal Favorite

Costco never disappoints when it comes to its selection of breads, offering something for just about every taste.

The Kirkland Signature Rustic Italian Bread delivers a delicate sweetness, while the Kirkland Signature Rosemary Parmesan Cheese Loaf offers a rich, savory flavor.

Those who like a little heat can opt for Kirkland Signature Jalapeño Cheddar Bread with Roasted Peppers, while fans of something sweeter eagerly stock up on the Kirkland Signature Cranberry Walnut Round whenever it returns.

But now, Costco’s bakery is bringing back something that many say is even better than the Cranberry Walnut bread.

The seasonal favorite making its grand return is the Kirkland Cherry and Fig Bread.

Introduced just last year, the loaf quickly became a hit with its ability to complement a variety of cold-weather meals or simply to be eaten alone with a cup of warm coffee or tea.

As Parade described it last season, the hearth-baked bread is filled with tart dried cherries and dried figs, along with pumpkin, flax and chia seeds.

“Perfect for breakfast toast, cheese boards, or as an accompaniment to savory dishes, this specialty loaf combines the tartness of cherries with the natural sweetness of figs in a rustic, freshly baked bread,” the description notes.

And while grocery prices continue to climb, the seasonal loaf remains relatively affordable at $8.99.

The bread has already developed a loyal following. Costco Finds Northeast praised its texture on Instagram, writing that “the crust is crispy and the center is soft” and calling it “definitely one of the best breads I’ve ever had.”

Costco Uncensored on Facebook also encouraged shoppers: “If you are fortunate enough to have this bread in your Costco, buy it! Is a must. Definitely toasted is so good.”

Even shoppers who aren’t usually impressed by Costco’s bakery selection have been won over, with one Redditor noting, “This is incredible. Normally I don’t think the bakery items are that great but this bread hits it out of the park. Worth the $10.”

“This is my absolute favorite bread but I can’t buy it because I can’t stop eating it,” someone else joked.

“Costco’s BRAND-NEW Sourdough Is Already Selling Out!” another user shared on Facebook, where someone else had a genius idea that’s sure to elevate your Thanksgiving meal: “I bet it would be great to dry and use in a stuffing.”

It’s a no-brainer that Costco brought the bread back, as it was given a 10/10, with one Redditor noting they eat it with cream cheese, while others explained they didn’t want to overwhelm the flavor and chose a layer of butter instead.

And the comparisons to Costco’s beloved Cranberry Walnut bread are already rolling in. When one shopper asked how the two compared, one declared the Cherry and Fig loaf even better, adding, “It blows it out of the water.”

According to Warehouse Runner, 611 of the 615 Costco warehouses carrying the item currently have it in stock.

If you spot the seasonal bread at your local Costco, you have to act quickly and grab a loaf before it’s gone because people on both the naughty and nice lists have been waiting for this comeback.

And the biggest challenge won’t be figuring out how to use it before it goes stale. It’ll be making it last longer than a day.
