The holiday season is ready for EJAE!
After winning a Grammy and Oscar earlier this year for co-writing and performing the No. 1 hit “Golden” from Kpop Demon Hunters, the Korean American singer-songwriter (born Kim Eun-jae) is gearing up to release her first holiday song, “Christmas in New York,” on Nov. 13.
“I wrote the song as a love letter to the magic felt during the holiday season in New York City,” EJAE tells PEOPLE exclusively as she shares the beautifully illustrated cover artwork for “Christmas in New York” on Instagram.

“When planning the art for the single, I knew I wanted it to be illustrated, inspired by classic New Yorker style imagery but with my own holiday twist,” she explains of the cover, which features a group of people going about their lives on a snowy N.Y.C. sidewalk as Santa’s sleigh flies through the sky above them.
“I had so much fun working with the illustrator, Victoria Tentler-Krylov, to incorporate some Easter eggs from my life into the scene,” says EJAE. “Some of the people pictured are depictions of my family and friends — including myself [and husband Sam Kim], my mom walking her dog, my brother and his family, my dad, my best friend/maid of honor and her husband and members of my creative team.”
Eagle-eyed viewers of the artwork may even be able to gather some details about the song before it comes out. “I even incorporated some references from the song’s lyrics into the cover,” teases EJAE, “but I’ll let the fans guess what those could be!”
“Christmas in New York” will follow EJAE’s most recent release, “Made My Night” with LE SSERAFIM. This year, she also collaborated with Andrea Bocelli, David Guetta and Megan Thee Stallion on the 2026 FIFA World Cup track “DNA (More Than a Game)” and released the solo single “Time After Time.”
