Silverton was recently recognized by HGTV as one of the best small towns to visit for Christmas in 2025.
The home advice network named the small Oregon town on its list of “50 Favorite Small Towns to Visit for Christmas,” which highlighted the best small towns across the United States that deliver “major holiday spirit, from magical sleigh rides to impressive light show.”
Here is why Silverton made the list and why HGTV said it is one of the best in the United States.

Silverton named one of the 50 best Christmas towns in the U.S. by HGTV
Silverton was ranked 35th on HGTV’s list of best Christmas towns.
“In Oregon, the town of Silverton shines as a top small town to visit for Christmas,” HGTV said. “Silverton’s historic downtown is beautifully decorated with lights and ornaments, creating a festive atmosphere.”
The town is known during the holiday season for its popular Silverton Christmas Market, an annual holiday festival where visitors are welcomed with dozens of light displays, artisan vendors, food and drinks, live music, and activities like snow tubing, Santa photo ops, and walks through more than 1.5 million lights.
During the 2025 holiday season, the Silverton Christmas Market is open now to Dec. 31. Tickets and time slots are available on the market’s website at silvertonchristmasmarket.com.
