A metro Phoenix ZIP code is one of the most popular places for people to move to in the country, according to a November report.
MovingPlace, a moving services company, analyzed proprietary data from almost 1 million moves in October. The study noted that moves made during that month tended to focus on suburban areas with affordable, large homes.
“After the frenzy of summer and the back-to-school rush in September, October seems to capture long-term lifestyle relocations: those moving for new jobs, finalized home purchases, or deciding to put down roots before winter,” the report stated.
Here’s which Arizona ZIP code made the list.
Where are the most people moving to in Arizona?
A Queen Creek ZIP code, 85142, was No. 8 on the list of total moves, with 278 moves during the month of October.
“Queen Creek is booming due to its affordability, offering larger homes, bigger lot sizes, and planned communities at a more reasonable price compared to nearby Phoenix,” the report stated.
Queen Creek is one of the fastest growing cities in Arizona. Between 2023 and 2024, it grew by 6,286 people — adding more people than every Arizona city except Phoenix and Surprise.
The top ZIP code was in Washington, D.C., with 370 moves. Five of the top eight ZIP codes were in Texas.
