Everyone’s idea of fun is different: Some people like trying new restaurants, visiting bars and clubs or playing outdoor sports, for example.
And, there are some cities that have all of the above.
To help Americans find the cities with the most significant number and variety of fun yet cost-effective options, WalletHub compared more than 180 U.S. cities based on 65 key metrics.
The metrics ranged from fitness centers per capita to movie costs to the average business hours of breweries.
Here’s what the data revealed as the most fun cities in America in 2025.
Las Vegas is most fun city in America
By the numbers
The data found that Las Vegas was the most fun city overall, boasting an extremely large number of attractions and restaurants rated at least 4.5-stars.
Some of the venues that were especially prevalent included spas, shopping centers, sports stadiums, festivals and arcades. There were also plenty of things to do for exercise, as Las Vegas has a ton of bowling alleys, basketball courts and hiking trails per capita, the data found.

When it comes to activities, Vegas unsurprisingly has one of the largest numbers of casinos in the country. But it’s also renowned for its performers, especially when it comes to music.
The data found that the city has a very high number of music festivals, music venues, dance clubs and comedy clubs relative to others.
Las Vegas was followed by Orlando and Miami as the most fun cities.

“The most fun cities naturally include some of the most popular tourist destinations in the U.S., like Las Vegas, Orlando and Miami, but these cities are far more than tourist traps,” Chip Lupo, a WalletHub analyst, said. “They provide a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities for all types of interests, from sports to theaters to arcades, and they have plenty of diverse restaurants to try. The top cities offer affordable options for year-round fun for their residents, which is good for residents’ wallets and their mental health.”
