It turns your workout into a HIIT session where you adjust the incline to cast your line and reel in bait, then crank up your speed to catch fish faster. The gameplay feels natural and keeps you moving without constant micro-adjustments, making it easy to get into a flow state.

SkyQuest, on the other hand, requires you to constantly tweak speed and incline to hit moving targets, which I found distracting rather than motivating. To feel challenged, I needed to set the intensity to the highest level, but this makes achieving a high score nearly impossible due to the constant changes. It’s the kind of game that might appeal to some users, but it wasn’t my preferred workout style.

Competition modes offer more straightforward challenges, pitting you against robots or other real users in races of varying types and durations. These are legitimately tough and provide solid motivation to push your pace. Even better is Pros vs Joes, which lets you race against Olympic race walkers and marathon-qualifying times. These challenges are brutally demanding — matching elite athlete paces is no joke — but they’re fantastic for when you want to test yourself.

The membership really opens up your options with over 70 on- and off-treadmill programs from Aviron trainers, plus the famous Les Mills library with 300+ workouts. Virtual scenic destinations let you “run” through beautiful landscapes. Some programs even adjust the speed and incline automatically in real time.

Without the membership, you can still use manual mode, track your metrics, earn badges and stream entertainment — but you’ll miss out on all the games, races and coached classes that make this treadmill special.

Where the Aviron Victory Treadmill falls short

Despite its impressive entertainment features, the Aviron Victory has some notable drawbacks. While you can use the treadmill without a membership and still access streaming apps, the paid subscription is non-negotiable if you want the games, races and coached classes that make this machine special. That’s an ongoing cost that adds up significantly over time.

The 12.5 mph max speed is a bit above the standard for home treadmills, and more than suitable for most people, but serious sprinters who need faster speeds will need to look at commercial-grade options (like the NordicTrack Commercial 2450). The display also vibrates noticeably at higher speeds, which can be distracting during intense runs.

At 242 pounds with no folding mechanism, this treadmill is essentially a permanent fixture once placed. Moving it requires significant effort, even with the two transport wheels, so make sure you’re happy with your chosen spot before setup.
