They call it one of New England’s most romantic resorts and if the rumors are true, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are set to say “I do” at Ocean House in Rhode Island next summer. I have had the good fortune of staying there with my family and I can confirm that it’s a fairy tale setting. It’s pure magic and I can’t think of a more fitting backdrop for the wedding of the decade. But what’s fact, what’s speculation and what remains unconfirmed?
What we (think we) know: The rumors and context
Recent media reports suggest Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are planning a wedding at Ocean House, possibly on June 13, 2026. According to Reuters, Swift allegedly “cut a hefty check” to secure that date, reportedly paying off another bride’s booking so she could have the weekend.
However, Ocean House itself has denied the claim that it allows “buyouts” of another couple’s reserved date. In a statement, the hotel’s spokesperson emphasized that once a wedding is booked, they don’t permit external parties to buy out another group’s date. As of now, neither the couple nor the hotel has publicly confirmed any booking or the marriage date.
So while the story of a mid-June 2026 wedding is widely shared in tabloids and entertainment outlets, even linking the date to Swift’s longtime affinity for the number 13, it remains speculative.
Why Ocean House makes sense
If you’ve ever stayed at Ocean House, you understand its rare magic. I visited for the first time in 2018 and it was love at first sight. My husband grew up visiting Ocean House every summer with his family and when we got married and had children, he wanted to continue the tradition.

Perched high on the bluffs of Watch Hill, Rhode Island, the resort offers sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean and Block Island on a property that spans 13 oceanfront acres. After its original 1868 structure was demolished in 2005, the hotel was meticulously rebuilt and reopened in 2010, honoring its Gilded Age charm with modern comforts.
Today’s Ocean House includes 49 guest rooms, 20 signature suites and intimately elegant cottages. For a wedding, especially one as high-profile as a Swift-Kelce union, the resort delivers on both romance and luxury. There’s a private white-sand beach with cabana service, beautifully manicured lawns for events, a historic chapel nearby and classic New England seaside charm down to the wind-swept dunes and coastal breezes.
On the culinary front, their fine-dining restaurant, Coast, is Forbes Five-Star rated, offering seasonal, farm-to-table cuisine. From intimate dinners to grand receptions, Ocean House offers a level of hospitality and privacy that would suit a celebrity wedding.

Given that Swift owns a mansion nearby in Watch Hill, the setting would not only be convenient but deeply fitting: a little secluded, very elegant and connected to her own history.
Despite the buzz, there’s a lot we don’t know. The hotel’s denial of the alleged wedding date buyout leaves open the possibility that June 13 may not even be available, or that any agreement with Swift and Kelce hasn’t been finalized.
Neither the couple nor their representatives have publicly confirmed any wedding plans, venue or guest list. Meanwhile, reports of a large guest list, possibly including celebrity friends and close family, remain speculative.
Until there’s official confirmation, this all remains very much in the rumor territory. But it’s easy to see how the speculation gained so much traction. Ocean House checks so many of the boxes for a fairytale, coastal-chic wedding that also provides the privacy and sophistication someone like Taylor Swift might be looking for.
Having stayed at Ocean House with my family, I know firsthand how magical it feels: the salty ocean air, the boardwalk down to the private beach and the sense that you’ve stepped into a timeless coastal world far removed from everyday life. When my husband and I first stayed there with our toddler son and returned a few years later with both our kids, it became a place to create memories that would last forever.

If I were Taylor, and I wanted a wedding that felt both grand and grounded, anchored in beauty, history and genuine New England charm, Ocean House would be it. The proximity to her Rhode Island residence, combined with the privacy the resort affords, makes it a dreamy option for a wedding that’s at once intimate and star-studded. And if you’re planning to visit Watch Hill, Rhode Island yourself, here’s what I recommend you do while you’re there!
