As December’s first chill nips at the Trinity River, Dallas-Fort Worth is transforming into a glittering ice kingdom, with pop-up rinks drawing record crowds and turning everyday plazas into seasonal wonderlands.
The Stockyards Rodeo Rink in Fort Worth kicked off on November 18, 2025, converting the historic Livestock Exchange Building’s lawn into a 4,000-square-foot skating haven under soothing chandeliers and holiday lights.
By Thanksgiving weekend, it had logged over 10,000 skaters, blending Wild West vibes with holiday cheer in a way that’s got social media ablaze. The covered rink, presented by Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center – Fort Worth, remains open daily, rain or shine, through January 4 with sessions lasting 90 minutes.
Amenities include a full bar and grill, hot beverages, fire pits, and picnic seating. Special perks feature Whataburger Tuesdays, where skaters snag a coupon for a free Whataburger. Don’t miss the Herd Cattle Drives at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily, plus visits with Cowboy Santa and a Holiday Workshop.
Tickets are $20 for kids (3-12), $25 for adults (skate rentals included), or grab a friends & family four-pack for $80.
Across the metroplex, the frenzy multiplies.
At Galleria Dallas, the SNOWDAY holiday immersive experience—open November 14 through January 4—turns Level 1 into a nostalgic winter wonderland with over 20 themed rooms, a glowing Christmas-lights maze, oversized ornaments, a new multimedia snowfall show, a Christmas Kaleidoscope room, and an AI-powered photo station for surreal portraits emailed to your phone.
Nearby, Prairie Lights in Grand Prairie amps the spectacle with a 2-mile illuminated drive-thru trail boasting millions of dazzling lights and all-new displays arching over the roads.
Running nightly through December 31 from 6-10 p.m., it features a midway Holiday Village with carnival rides, concessions, and Santa photos.
General admission is $50 per car, with Fast Pass options at $149 to skip lines—prime slots often sell out, so book ahead as the park hits capacity quickly.
