AUSTIN (KXAN) — A holiday pop-up opens at Hotel Van Zandt in downtown Austin on Wednesday, with a chance to hang with friends and family — and get cozy.
“Reindeer over Rainey” is on the fourth-floor pool deck of the popular downtown hotel, located just outside Geraldine’s restaurant. It features cabanas that have been transformed into holiday lounges, while also featuring larger suites, dubbed “Snowflake Suites,” that can accommodate up to 10 people.

Reservations are for two time periods, 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., on select days. Each lounge or suite costs $125 to reserve. There is then a food and beverage minimum on top of that for each reservation. Prices vary depending on the size of the area you reserve.
Reservations include a chef-curated dinner, holiday-inspired cocktails, with non-alcoholic options available, desserts, music and plenty of surprises.
“Really anywhere from appetizers to a full dinner can be held out here,” said Director of Food & Beverage Trevor Cabal.
“It’s definitely about community and bringing the locals back to the Main Street area,” Cabal added.
The special event runs through Dec. 28. For more information, visit the official ticket website.
