Calling all cookie monsters!
Thursday, Dec. 4 is National Cookie Day, meaning plenty of dessert chains and dining spots are celebrating with freebies, exclusive deals, buy-one, get one offers and lifetime giveaways.
National Cookie Day was originally added to Sesame Street’s calendar in 1976, on Nov. 26. In 1980, the Cookie Monster proclaimed his own National Cookie Day in “The Sesame Street Dictionary.”
Seven years later, Blue Chip Cookie Company co-founder Matt Nader created Cookie Day on Dec. 4, according to National Day Calendar, and the date stuck. Now, even the Cookie Monster celebrates on the day.
Participating National Cookie Day businesses include Crumbl, Dirty Dough, Insomnia Cookies, Panera Bread, and more.

Is Crumbl doing anything for National Cookie Day 2025?
For National Cookie Day, Thursday, Dec. 4, Crumbl customers can get a seventh item for free when purchasing a 6-pack in-store. Each Crumbl location will also provide 6-7 stickers for the first 100 customers, referencing the viral social media trend.

Insomnia Cookies offers a free classic cookie for National Cookie Day 2025
Insomnia Cookies is offering customers a free classic cookie and an option to purchase a $1 deluxe cookie, excluding limited-time-only flavors.
The first 100 members of the Insomnia Rewards loyalty program who visit any store on National Cookie Day also get a free Snowball Classic cookie, a limited-time sugar cookie stuffed with buttercream and topped with powdered sugar and edible glitter. One cookie at each of the cookie chain’s 350 stores will reveal a prize – free cookies for a year – via its purple buttercream filling.
Dirty Dough National Cookie Day 2025 deals, giveaway
You can win free Dirty Dough cookies for a year or treats for life if you have created a Dirty Dough Rewards account and stay logged in while making a purchase on National Cookie Day, Dec. 4.
For in-store purchases, make sure to provide your email or phone number at checkout to link the transaction. The one-year prize will be announced Dec. 19; for the lifetime prize, which will be announced Jan. 12, 2026, you can qualify by making a purchase through Dec. 31.
Panera Bread celebrates National Cookie Day 2025 with BOGO
Members of the MyPanera loyalty program can buy one cookie, get one free on Dec. 4, at participating Panera cafes only. The offer will be added to MyPanera wallet as a reward, but reward must be selected when ordering and will not be automatically applied.
Dunkin Donuts boosts reward points for National Cookie Day 2025
Dunkin’ Rewards members can earn 3X points on all espresso beverages in honor of National Cookie Day. Dunkin’ has a variety of cookie-flavored beverages available now, including:

Nestle Toll House hosts taco kit giveaway for National Cookie Day 2025
The baking brand is giving away cookie taco kits online, beginning at 2 p.m. ET on Dec. 4, on a first-come, first-served basis (while supplies last). The kits include a Nestlé Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Roll, Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels for extra toppings, a taco stand and $25 gift card to cover additional ingredients, including eggs.
