Tokyo Disneyland is preparing to turn one of Disney’s video game worlds into an interactive park experience, but the new attraction will involve more than aiming at targets.
The project brings familiar characters into a candy-filled adventure where guests work together to stop a threat to the kingdom.
The attraction will also be part of a broader evolution of Tomorrowland, with new merchandise, food offerings and entertainment planned around its debut.

Some of those additions will arrive weeks before guests can experience the ride itself.
April 15 Launch Replaces Buzz Lightyear With In-Cab Bug Scanners
Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue, the first Disney theme park attraction based on Wreck-It Ralph, will open at Tokyo Disneyland on April 15, 2027. It replaces the former Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters attraction, which closed in October 2024.
In the new experience, King Candy transforms sweets throughout the Sugar Rush racing game into Sugar Bugs programmed to consume the kingdom. Guests join Ralph, Vanellope and their friends to restore the corrupted candies to their original forms.
Rather than simply following a story, visitors will use scanners installed in their ride vehicles to participate in the rescue mission. Their scores will depend partly on the types and number of Sugar Bugs they restore.

Results will appear on onboard displays and, for a limited time, in the Tokyo Disney Resort app. Ride photos will also be added to the app’s My Photos section, where they can be purchased.
Disney says the indoor attraction is designed for children and adults. Its soundtrack will feature new music by Henry Jackman, who also composed the music for the film.
The official Tokyo Disney Resort attraction page currently states that a free Standby Pass is required, while paid Disney Premier Access will also be available.

Pixel Prism will use fiber-optic-inspired design, pixel-patterned flooring and game-themed details. Its merchandise range will include attraction-related items, plush toys, candy and other products.
The attraction’s opening also falls on Tokyo Disneyland’s anniversary. The park opened on April 15, 1983, making the new ride’s debut its 44th anniversary in 2027.
It will become part of Tomorrowland redevelopment that also includes the planned Space Mountain: Earthrise attraction and additional shops, restaurants and public spaces.
