LOMA, Colo. (KREX)- Absolute Prestige Ranch, known for hosting weddings and large events throughout the year, becomes a winter attraction each December. More than 150 illuminated trees, festive blow-up displays and horse-drawn carriage rides now light up the property, drawing families from across Grand Junction.
Co-owner Shirleen Hutton said visitors are welcome to reserve a spot or simply drive by to see the display.
“Yes, you can call and make reservations, or you can drive by as well,” Hutton said. “We have the whole property lit up with lights. With reservations, we set up a firepit, we offer cocktails, we have hot chocolate, and you can roast marshmallows. And then we come and pick you up and take you on a horse-drawn carriage ride in the country through the lights.”
The ranch, which doubles as an event venue, adds new holiday offerings each year — from craft fairs to trolley and limousine light tours.
“We try to do a special craft fair for each holiday. We also offer Christmas light tours in buses and trolleys and limousines,” Hutton said. “We focus on the family events and what people like to do to get together and have fun.”
A standout addition this season includes several decorative deer once featured at the well-known “Blue House,” now on display at the ranch.
“We have over 100 trees lit up out here, and we were very fortunate to get some of their deer out here,” Hutton said. “We feel quite honored to have some of the Blue House deer on our farm to show off to the community.”
The ranch’s draft horses—stars of the carriage rides—are also drawing attention.
“They’re my newest team… very big, very nice horses called a dapple gray,” Hutton said. “As they get older, they get lighter. We’re so proud to show them off and give people rides with them.”
