Fans are hoping this means a similar release window to season one, which debuted in October of 2025 and wrapped up in December of 2025.

HBO released the official logline for It: Welcome to Derry season two

Set in the world of Stephen King’s “IT” universe, IT: WELCOME TO DERRY is based on King’s “IT” novel and expands the vision established by filmmaker Andy Muschietti in the feature films “IT” and “IT Chapter Two.” Season two takes place in 1935 during the Great Depression and centers on the bloody massacre of the Bradley Gang, a group of bank robbers who stop in Derry to buy ammo and end up facing unimaginable horror.

Showrunner Brad Caleb Kane confirmed that we’ll see Pennywise in a “way you’ve never seen that character before,” and it will be “bigger” than Season 1.

“We’re writing the scripts. We’re about halfway through the writing of the scripts. We have a production schedule, we’re greenlit for a Season 2, and Andy Muschietti’s out there casting,” he said in another update.
