Elizabeth Hurley Set the Record Straight on Whether She Took Prince Harry’s Virginity

The Gist

  • Elizabeth Hurley addressed fan theories that she took Prince Harry’s virginity.

  • The actress told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live in 2024 that she has “never met” Harry.

  • The Duke of Sussex detailed a relationship with an “older” woman in his 2023 memoir, Spare.

Elizabeth Hurley set the record straight about whether she’s the mystery woman Prince Harry described losing his virginity to in his memoir, Spare.

In an April 2024 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Hurley, 61, sat down for an interview alongside Brooke Shields. Cohen read aloud a fan question that asked if she was the “older” woman the Duke of Sussex mentioned in his 2023 memoir.

“That was ludicrous!” Hurley, who is 19 years older than Harry, 42, said when asked about the rumors. “He said, ‘She was English. She was older than me. It was in Gloucestershire.’ And they were like, ‘Ah, it’s Elizabeth.'”

After Cohen asked if she was “surprised” to hear this theory, Hurley added, “It was absurd. It was ridiculous. It was like saying, ‘He’s great-looking. He’s American.’ Oh, it’s Andy Cohen.”

The host then doubled down with a quip, asking, “But was Harry a good lover? Were you gentle with him?” Hurley threw her head back laughing, as she responded, “I’ve never met him.”

While the Bedazzled actress hasn’t come face to face with the Duke of Sussex, she has been photographed with King Charles and Prince William on different occasions.

In his memoir, Harry described losing his virginity as an “inglorious episode” with an “older woman.”

“She liked horses, quite a lot, and treated me not unlike a young stallion,” Harry wrote. “Quick ride, after which she’d smacked my rump and sent me off to graze. Among the many things about it that were wrong: It happened in a grassy field behind a busy pub. Obviously, someone had seen us.”

Since then, Harry and Hurley both appeared in court in January after suing Associated Newspapers, which publishes the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday. The two were both claimants, along with Elton John and Jude Law’s ex-wife Sadie Frost, who all alleged that the newspapers used unlawful methods to obtain information. They lost the case against Associated Newspapers in August and were ordered to pay 9.5 million pounds ($13 million).

“We came to court seeking justice and accountability. But we have received neither,” Harry and the claimants said in a statement. “It is a complete and obvious whitewash, but sadly not altogether unexpected.”
