Chrishell Stause‘s heartbreaking separation from G Flip has taken an unexpected turn, with new details emerging about the former couple’s marriage after four years together.
The “Selling Sunset” alum recently broke down while announcing their separation, admitting that she still loves the Australian musician despite the painful end of their relationship.
While Chrishell Stause has described their split as another failed marriage, sources have now revealed that the pair’s multiple wedding ceremonies never resulted in a legally binding union.

Stause and G Flip reportedly never legally married despite exchanging vows during several wedding ceremonies throughout their relationship. Sources close to the former couple confirmed that they never formalized their union before deciding to separate.
The revelation means the reality television star and Australian musician will not have to undergo a legal divorce following their breakup. The former lovebirds initially exchanged vows during a Las Vegas ceremony in May 2023, approximately one year after making their relationship public.
However, it was reported at the time that their wedding was not legally binding, with sources claiming the couple intended to formalize their marriage later.
That reportedly never happened, even though Stause and G Flip subsequently celebrated their relationship with additional ceremonies and a vow renewal. The latest development comes just days after Stause emotionally announced that their four-year romance had ended, per TMZ.
The Former Couple Previously Defended Their Untraditional Wedding

Stause previously addressed questions about her unconventional wedding to G Flip, explaining why traditional marriage arrangements were not particularly important to her. The Blast reported in May 2023 that the actress revealed that the couple deliberately approached their ceremony differently.
“It was not what people would expect — we did everything untraditional,” she explained during an appearance on Access Hollywood. Stause noted that she had already experienced the complicated process of planning a conventional wedding during her previous marriage.
She believed their emotional connection was more meaningful than the paperwork and elaborate preparations typically associated with weddings. The reality star also admitted that they had almost forgotten about getting engaged before exchanging vows.
Although reports questioned their legal marriage status at the time, Stause maintained that their commitment remained genuine. The pair subsequently celebrated their love through other ceremonies, although none reportedly changed their legal status.
Who Made The Decision To End Their Four-Year Romance?
Stause publicly announced her breakup with G Flip on Monday. She revealed that the breakup was an agreement between her and G Flip.
Stause shared the news in an emotional Instagram video on Monday, October 26. She said that the separation was a “pretty humbling update.” The reality star also said they both agreed to handle it with love and respect.
G Flip also released a statement on her Instagram confirming the breakup. The musician said, “4+ years, Chrishell and I are no longer together.” G Flip wrote that, “I will always love her; we will always share a special connection, and I cherish our memories together deeply.”
The singer also revealed that their “head & heart” were feeling “very heavy” and said they were not ready to discuss the breakup. G Flip thanked supporters and asked them to respect their privacy. TMZ reported that G Flip was the one who called it quits on their four-year love story.

Stause revealed how the relationship’s end made her feel. She said that she felt like “a little bit of a failure” after her second broken marriage. She also revealed that her feelings for G Flip had not changed.
“I’m definitely never doing this again,” Stause declared. She explained why she wanted to address the breakup herself rather than releasing “a cold written statement.”
The reality star shared that despite how painful it is, she had an “amazing time over four years with G.” She also hoped they would both find happiness. “I will always love G, and I don’t ever really see that changing,” she added.
A fan commented that it was “The update I truly never saw coming.” Another fan tried to comfort her by saying, “I’m so sorry you deserve the world.”
Others encouraged Stause not to blame herself for the relationship ending. The Blast noted that one commenter reminded her that relationships are journeys people experience and “no one is a failure in that situation.”
Chrishell Stause’s Relationship History Before G Flip

Before the reality star’s love story with G Flip started, she was involved in different high-profile relationships. She reportedly dated “Glee” star Matthew Morrison in 2006.
They became engaged after about a year together. The duo eventually called off their engagement in December 2007. Morrison later admitted that he had not proposed for the right reasons.
Stause reportedly dated a professional basketball player named Graham Bunn after her engagement with Morrison ended. Their first separation came when she had the opportunity to pursue “The Bachelorette.” They later reconnected and dated for two years. Bunn praised her during a 2021 podcast appearance, saying he was proud of her.
The TV star also met actor Justin Hartley in 2013, and they got married in 2017. Hartley filed for divorce in November 2019, over some “irreconcilable differences.” Stause later revealed he told her about the filing through a text message.
Stause reportedly dated professional dancer Keo Motsepe after meeting him during “Dancing with the Stars” in 2020. They reportedly split in February 2021. In July 2012, she started a relationship with “Selling Sunset” co-star Oppenheim. PEOPLE revealed that their relationship only lasted for five months.
Now, with her relationship with G Flip over, Chrishell Stause faces another difficult chapter, although their separation reportedly will not involve a legal divorce.
