Carnival Cruise Line shares update on popular new drink package

Carnival Cruise Line delighted many cruise vacationers earlier this year when it introduced a new, non-alcoholic beverage package that fans had been requesting for some time.

A non-alcoholic version of the cruise line’s popular Cheers beverage package, the new Cheers Zero Proof package includes an array of premium, alcohol-free beverage options from smoothies, milkshakes, and sodas to specialty coffee, energy drinks, mocktails, and alcohol-free sparkling wine.

Initially, the package, which costs $29.99 per person per day, was only available to purchase for 2025 cruises, leaving many Carnival passengers wondering when they’d be able to add it for 2026 cruises.

Now, as the end of the year approaches, the cruise line is slowly beginning to make Cheers Zero Proof available to purchase for some 2026 cruises.

Here’s when Carnival’s Cheers Zero Proof will be available for spring 2026 cruises

Cheers Zero Proof is currently only available to purchase for Carnival cruises sailing between now and February 2026, but it should become available for more sailings soon, according to the cruise line’s brand ambassador, John Heald. He shared an update on the availability of Cheers Zero Proof in a Dec. 1 Facebook post.

Heald began the post with a reminder that the new beverage package is now available to purchase for January and February 2026 cruises, before letting passengers know when it will become available for more sailings.

“Those wanting to purchase it from March 2026, I promise we will have this online for you to purchase at the start of next year and I will let everybody know as soon as it is,” Heald assured. “Thank you so much, it’s obvious that this is very, very popular.”

The brand ambassador also used the post as an opportunity to gather feedback on the new beverage package.

“If you used Cheers Zero Proof already, what was the best thing about it? What drinks did you enjoy the most,” Heald asked.

Carnival cruisers share reviews of Cheers Zero Proof package

Across more than 380 comments on the post, a number of Carnival cruisers shared how the Cheers Zero Proof package enhanced their cruise experience. For many, the opportunity to try a wide range of premium non-alcoholic beverages made the package worth the $29.99 per day.

“I had the Cheers Zero Proof on the Freedom right before Thanksgiving. I liked being able to try all different types of mocktails, milkshakes, and soda, but my favorite was frozen raspberry daiquiris,” Emily Freeman said.

Adam Reabe explained how it was an ideal beverage package for his pregnant wife, and one that also made him think differently about drinking alcohol during his cruise.

“My wife was able to drink the mocktails and specialty coffees while pregnant and not just juice all cruise. So, she loved it,” he said. “As someone who drinks a lot normally with Cheers, I didn’t feel like I needed to drink booze all day with the Zero Proof package. I had coffees, NA beers, and sodas, and saved the alcohol for the evenings after dinner.”

For some couples, the package comes with one major downfall though.

“I wish I could purchase the Cheers for my husband and the Zero Proof for myself,” Susanne Styles wrote in a comment that was echoed by others.

If one adult in a stateroom purchases the higher-priced Cheers package that includes alcoholic drinks, Carnival requires all adults in the same stateroom to purchase Cheers. The cruise line doesn’t allow passengers to substitute Cheers Zero Proof in this case.
