The new 74,000-square-foot location will offer all of the traditional Buc-ee’s food favorites, like homemade fudge, Beaver Nuggets, jerky and Texas barbecue, along with “thousands” of other food and drink options.

The travel center will also have 120 fueling positions, the release said.

In addition to the amenities for travelers, the location will provide more than 200 full-time jobs to the Lafayette area, the release said.

It added that starting pay will be “well above minimum wage” and that the chain will offer full benefits, a 6% 401(k) match and three weeks of paid vacation to its employees.

The new Louisiana location will be commemorated with a ceremony with local leaders on Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. CT, per the release.

Buc-ee’s has 57 stores across Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio, Virginia and Colorado.

It announced its Louisiana expansion, along with five other states it was moving into, earlier this year.

In May, Buc-ee’s said it would open locations in Goodyear, Ariz. and Benton, Ark. in 2026, along with locations in Wisconsin and Kansas in 2027 and North Carolina in 2028.

Buc-ee’s announced on Instagram that the Arizona location was open on June 22, and the Arkansas location was open on Aug. 17.

“We’re open 24/7/365 and we can’t wait to meet you ♥️,” the chain captioned its posts.

Buc-ee’s received an “F” rating from the Better Business Bureau in March, which claimed the travel center failed to respond to 88 unanswered customer service complaints.

According to BBB, the chain received complaints from customers unable to contact the company, such as not receiving a response to inquiries on its website.

The agency noted that its rankings depend on factors including “customer complaints, transparency, and responsiveness” and that customer reviews don’t impact ratings.

The 2025 American Customer Satisfaction Index for convenience stores ranked Buc-ee’s No. 5, and the company was America’s No. 1 quick-service restaurant spot in dunnhumby rankings, per Fox Business.
