B2K returns with new album ‘Eclipse,’ marking a new chapter for the R&B group

The new album introduces longtime fans to a new side of B2K while inviting a new generation of R&B listeners.

Boy band B2K released their highly anticipated album, “Eclipse,” on Friday, marking the first time the millennial heartthrobs have released a new project in more than 20 years.

The group, made up of Omarion, J-Boog, Raz-B, and Lil’ Fizz, rose to fame in the early 2000s, capturing the hearts of young girls nationwide. Known for top-charting hits like “Girlfriend,” “Uh Huh” and “Bump, Bump, Bump,” B2K returns more than two decades later as evolved artists with a more mature sound, according to a news release.

“Eclipse,” B2K’s first full-length album since “Pandemonium!” in 2003, features 12 tracks, including singles “Mileage” and “Lil Freak,” which showcase a more mature side of the group. The project also features fellow Millennium tourmate Bow Wow on “Boyfriend,” a track that builds on the nostalgia of “Girlfriend,” the 2007 single from Omarion and Bow’s joint album “Face Off.”

B2K’s reunion means more than releasing new music. As teenagers, they navigated the pressures of fame in the entertainment industry while working through personal challenges in the spotlight. Now adults, the bandmates bring their individual experiences and personal growth to their new music, inviting their longtime fans along for the ride.

The group has made several public appearances since their reunion. In June, B2K participated in a musical showdown during BET Weekend with R.S.V.P., featuring Ray J, Sammie, Bobbie V and Pleasure P. That same month, they also had the highly anticipated Verzuz with fellow tourmates Pretty Ricky.

Earlier this year, they wrapped up “The Millennium Tour Presents: The Boys 4 Life Tour” for the group’s 25th anniversary with Bow Wow as co-headliner. Other performers included Jeremih, Waka Flocka Flame, Amerie, Yung Joc, Crime Mob, Dem Franchize Boyz (DFB), Pretty Ricky, and B5.

With “Eclipse,” B2K gives longtime fans a new collection of music while introducing a different side of the group to a new generation of R&B listeners. The album is available on all major streaming platforms.
