There are many different things that you shouldn’t do while traveling, and not being kind is definitely at the top of the list. If you’re flying Delta this holiday season, being kind during your travels could actually get you much more than a pat on the back. The company has created a program called Centennial Cheer, in honor of its 100th anniversary, in which they will be recognizing 100,000 acts of kindness from Delta customers.
How it works is that Delta has created Holiday Medallion Cards, and the Delta employees are on the lookout for customers who are exhibiting kindness through the holiday season. These Holiday Medallion Cards will be handed to those customers whose actions stand out to the employees, and in turn, they can cash the card in for a reward. Each person will receive a surprise gift through Delta’s online shop. These gifts include exclusive merchandise like hats, pajamas, sweaters, blankets, mugs and more. Other surprise gifts could be a Centennial Gift Set or even a $500 Delta gift card.
If you’re not a part of the loyalty program with Delta, you can still participate in the offering. Delta employees are meant to look out for any customer, regardless of status with the airline, who is simply displaying acts of kindness. Whether it’s your first time flying with Delta or your thousandth, it’s all fair game.

The holiday season can be filled with a lot of stress, with people rushing around to try to get to where they need to go and to get things done. However, at the end of the day, we need to remember that the purpose of the holiday season is to connect with those around us, spread cheer, and close out the year in a positive way. By embodying this on your next Delta flight, you may just be rewarded!
