If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to live in a castle, one of Fort Worth’s most jaw-dropping homes is about to give someone the chance.
A 19,000-square-foot castle-like mansion built for Texas Rangers co-owner Bob Simpson is going up for auction on Dec. 3rd. The home is listed at $11.75 million, and starting bids are expected to be between $4 million to $6.5 million, according to Concierge Auctions.
The home sits at 9553 Bella Terra Drive in the gated Montserrat neighborhood and has become known for its castle-style architecture and luxury details.

What’s inside the mansion?
The estate includes seven bedrooms, 13 full bathrooms, and five half baths.
It spans 2.12 acres featuring both indoor and outdoor pools, a private pond, a professional sports court, and a guest house with its own studio.
Each bedroom suite comes with spa-inspired bathrooms and custom finishes.
Inside, there are grand double-height rooms, large fireplaces with hearths in nearly every space and multiple gourmet kitchens made for entertaining.

What makes it stand out?
The home was designed to resemble a European castle, complete with turrets, towers and stone interiors.
Decorative touches include ornate ceilings, stone and wood arches, gilded details, and stained-glass style windows. There’s even a hot tub tucked inside a domed, stone-lined space that looks like a small chapel.
Other luxury features include a climate-controlled wine cellar, private theater, gym and owner’s suite with a private office above and a personal elevator.

What’s the history of the home?
Simpson commissioned the mansion nearly two decades ago as part of his vision for a one-of-a-kind residence that merged classic European design with Texas craftsmanship.
The project took years of custom construction and attention to detail, resulting in a property that became one of Fort Worth’s most distinctive homes.
After completion, Simpson and his wife expanded the estate by purchasing the lot next door, adding a master suite and an indoor pool with a spa.
The home later became a recognizable landmark in the Montserrat area, known for its castle-like façade and sprawling amenities. The Simpsons sold the property in 2021, but it remains one of the most well-known luxury builds in the city.
