At the beginning of 2026, Daily Mail reported that four key members of Days of Our Lives‘ younger set were axed. That number included Raven Bowens (Chanel). Now, as the year closes out, Bowens is commenting on how being let go from the Salem-set sudser came about.
In a TikTok, she revealed she was fired on Jan. 2 after five years as baker/actress Chanel. She added:
I had just signed a new contract that was for nine months, but every three months, your contract cannot be renewed or picked up. It’s, like, eight o’clock in the morning and I am completely blindsided. I just remember being in bed; my sister was in town and she was laying next to me and I got this call and I was like, ‘Why would my producer be calling me on Jan. 2? We don’t go back to work for a week. Something is going on. I think I’m getting fired.’ I was just like, ‘No, no, no,’ and I answered that call and that is what that call was.
Bowens was informed that DAYS didn’t have a storyline for Chanel at the moment and so they’d be scripting an exit for the popular character when her current storyline wrapped. She said that such things do happen in show business, but noted that:
it was a really hard reality. I was going to work every day for five years; I got comfortable. That was like my second home.
