Jordyn Woods is embracing the title of being a “chill bride,” but there was one exception on her big day.
“Everyone says I was the most chill bride they’d ever seen,” Woods, 29, said on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle on Friday, Oct. 23.
The designer and model tied the knot with New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns during a star-studded Malibu wedding in August. But there was one part of the milestone event that didn’t exactly go to plan.
“It was really chill,” she said of the wedding, before adding, “I wasn’t stressed out about anything except the missing veil. My veil was missing for a little bit. It’s the only stress I had of the day.”

Without pointing fingers, the newlywed said that the custom garment “wasn’t actually packed” when she and her team left for their idyllic venue.
“It was back at the AirBNB,” Woods shared, adding that she “ended up getting it” back before tying the knot.
However, the veil still managed to cause a stir in the process. Woods wore a custom Danielle Frankel gown as she walked down the aisle and leaned on the designer for an emergency backup.
“I called the dress designer. I know they had a showroom in L.A. I’m like, ‘Get me whatever veil,’ even though my veil was fully custom. I was pretty upset,” she admits. “It was such a pivotal part of the dress, I feel like.”
Woods’ younger sister, Jodie, reassured her as they were waiting to see if the veil was nearby.
“My sister, she was like, ‘I feel good about it. I think it’s there,’ ” Jordyn recalled. “I was like, ‘You know what, I’m trusting you.’ “

After being reunited with her veil, Woods’ special day went off without a hitch. She and Towns, 30, also managed to honor their late parents in subtle ways during the ceremony. Jordyn’s father, John Woods, died in 2017 when she was 19 years old. Towns’ mother, Jacqueline Cruz-Towns, died in 2020, and the couple initially bonded over their shared grief.
“With our ceremony, we kept it very short and sweet. We did our vows privately, but for the family section, we had a chair to honor both of them with just flowers,” Jordyn shared. “I knew that if I looked and I saw that, it would just… the emotions, makeup done, so I just wanted it to be subtle. We also had little lockets that our parents got us, a handkerchief that I could put in my, like, tuck it in. There was a lot of little things, but nothing huge and in your face.”
