Celebrity beauty standards are always evolving—what makes for an attractive face or body changes from one year to the next, and these beauty trends are often recycled down the road. We see that happening today with the GLP-1 craze; super-skinny is back with a vengeance, and many celebrities and normal people have been using the medication to get the rail-thin physique that they desire.
After years of the body positive movement going mainstream, celebs are abandoning the trend and pursuing a look that’s worryingly lean and sometimes impossible without the help of drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy, or Mounjaro. But the results aren’t always as intended; some side effects of rapid weight loss are the dreaded “Ozempic cheekbones” or “Ozempic face,” constituted by a gaunt, aged appearance that can occur when someone’s skin doesn’t adjust well to the loss of fat. This has left many celebrities with faces that look sunken and wrinkled while their cheekbones become startlingly prominent.
Keeping that in mind, here are the most extreme cases of “Ozempic cheekbones” that we’ve seen in celebrities in this new era of all-things-skinny.
Kelly and Sharon Osbourne
One of the most dramatic transformations has been with Kelly and Sharon Osbourne. While Kelly has struggled with weight issues her entire life, her recent dramatic weight loss, especially on the red carpet of the 2026 Brit Awards with her mother, has led many to speculate about using GLP-1 medications. However, some argue that it may be a result of grief after her father Ozzy Osbourne’s passing. She took to IG to address commenters who “dehumanized” her during the “hardest time” in her life.

Sharon Osbourne is also no stranger to people talking about her physical appearance, and while she did drop 100 pounds after gastric band surgery in the 90s, in 2023 she said she felt she was too gaunt and skinny, telling the Daily Mail, “You can lose so much weight and it’s easy to become addicted to that, which is very dangerous.” That comment may have foreshadowed the future, where she now has a textbook “Ozempic face.”

Demi Moore
Demi Moore’s transformation is even more tragic given the fact that she was in “The Substance,” which is about the ugly and unrelenting pursuit of youth. This star has constantly been in the tabloids for decades, and while she was once complimented for aging gracefully, she was shocked at the 32nd Annual Actor Awards when she looked particularly fragile with pronounced cheekbones, leading to Ozempic allegations.
Katy Perry
While Katy Perry’s transformation isn’t as dramatic as some of the people on this list, her face is noticeably less round than it used to be, leading people to wonder if she is, in fact, one of the celebs on GLP-1 medication. Even more shocking is that for her 2024 birthday party, she included an empty mini-syringe labeled “OzempiKP,” alluding to her alleged Ozempic use paired with her initials. Although she hasn’t confirmed using weight loss drugs to alter her body, her more chiseled recent look has people suspicious, with one Reddit user saying, “I think the celebs are doing something that makes their face an oblong rectangle. Her face used to be round. Idk what’s going on.”
Cheryl Burke
This “Dancing with the Stars” celebrity has participated in numerous seasons of the competition show, and her experience with body dysmorphia extends beyond the stage. However, recently, her look has been a hot topic. She’s always had an athletic build, but she’s grown extremely slender in recent years, and part of that is a major cheekbone transformation, which has led many to speculate about GLP-1 usage. She’s called the occupations “completely cruel” but hasn’t denied them, suggesting that she feels pressured by societal standards of beauty and the entertainment industry.
