Recovering from a stroke
This massive glow-up hits even harder when you remember where she’s been lately. In April 2022, Susan suffered a minor stroke that affected her speech and singing. She later revealed on Britain’s Got Talent in 2023 that she “fought like crazy” to get back onstage and perform “I Dreamed a Dream” again.
For a while, she stepped out of the spotlight, skipped releasing new albums, and focused all her strength and attention on her health. But in true Boyle fashion, she didn’t announce a comeback with a big press conference. Instead, she did it with a gentle, slightly mischievous Instagram post.

“It’s my birthday… and I’m back”
On April 1, 2025 (her 64th birthday, not an April Fool’s joke), Susan returned to Instagram for the first time in two years. The video, set to her original Britain’s Got Talent audition track “I Dreamed a Dream,” showed behind-the-scenes clips from what looked very much like a new photoshoot.
“Today’s a special day — it’s my birthday!” she wrote. “But I’ve got something exciting to share… I’m back and working on some wonderful new projects that I can’t wait for you to hear about!”
Two days later, she posted again, this time in a sharp pantsuit, thanking fans for the flood of birthday wishes and teasing that this year there’s lots in store, so we’ve been patiently waiting.
When Oasis dedicated a song to Susan
As if the comeback arc needed extra gravy, August brought a very loud shout-out. At Oasis’s final night of a three-show run at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium, Liam Gallagher paused before “Stand By Me” and told the crowd, “This one’s for Susan Boyle.” The crowd was stunned, but in a good way!
It didn’t take long for Susan to respond, and she did it exactly like you’d hope: a selfie in full Oasis merch, thumbs up, and the caption, “You’ve made this old girl’s day.” It was the kind of cross-genre respect moment that reminds everyone she’s a real person and an inspiration to probably millions, including some extremely well-known musicians, like Oasis.

If you read between the lines of her Insta posts, new photoshoots, birthday announcements, “wonderful new projects” claims, and that recent red carpet glow-up, it’s pretty clear Susan Boyle isn’t done with music. After a six-year gap since her last album, she’s been back in the studio and openly talking about a huge chart comeback. And, honestly, we can’t wait. Drop that fresh fire, Susan!
