Hitting Pause (2010–2012)
In 2010, Amanda decided to step back from acting, announcing her “retirement” via Twitter. At first, it seemed like a break, but then the headlines turned more concerning. In 2012, she faced legal issues, including a DUI charge. Turns out, even Nickelodeon stars aren’t immune to messy Hollywood detours.

Public Struggles and the Conservatorship Chronicles (2013–2014)
Things got even more intense in 2013 when Amanda’s increasingly erratic behavior hit the headlines. The infamous driveway fire incident (yes, she started a small fire in a stranger’s yard) led to a 72-hour mental health hold. Shortly after, her parents filed for conservatorship. This period was marked by bizarre tweets (like accusing her dad of unspeakable things, only to blame it on a brain microchip) and a bipolar diagnosis. It was a tough time—for Amanda and for her fans who grew up idolizing her.

Sobriety and New Beginnings (2018–2022)
After years of turbulence, Amanda started to piece things back together. She enrolled in the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (because why not add fashion to her list of talents?) and graduated in 2019. By 2018, she celebrated four years of sobriety, giving fans hope that the Amanda we knew and loved was on her way back. In 2022, she officially ended her conservatorship and began a new chapter.
