Die-hard pop music fans are always at the forefront of discovering the next big thing on the scene before it explodes into the mainstream. But many of them are just as committed to learning absolutely everything about the artists they love and tracking every detail of their lives, in and out of the recording studios—including their relationships and how they grow and change over time.
When pop stars couple up, or one member of a relationship is at the center of a media craze and fan attention, the lines between work and personal life can blur. This makes it even more upsetting when the relationships fall apart due to the intense scrutiny, scheduling differences, pressures of the job, and other factors. That drama increases tenfold when the couple isn’t just dating but married—take Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, for example. While many pop stars of the past have dealt with this, many current couples still face gossip and divorce rumors.
Justin Bieber & Hailey Bieber
This couple’s love story dates back to 2009 when they met on the set of NBC’s “Today” via an introduction from Hailey’s father. In 2014, the public speculated that they were dating, and they went official on Instagram. Through temporary breakups, a secret wedding, Justin going through depression, Hailey having a mini-stroke, and having a child in 2024, the two have been through a lot. Today, there are lots of rumors about trouble in paradise and a potential divorce.
Pink & Carey Hart
This couple met at the 2001 Summer X Games in Philadelphia, getting into a relationship not long after. After a brief breakup in 2003, they reconciled, and Pink proposed to her now-hubby in 2005 at the Pro 250 class finals in Mammoth, California. The next year, they married, but ever since, the relationship has been an emotional rollercoaster. In 2008, they ultimately separated and divorced, but just 11 months after filing the papers, they found their way back to each other. They now have two kids and seem happy, but are still plagued by divorce rumors.
Beyoncé & Jay-Z
These celebs had a love story that started decades ago in the Y2K era when Queen Bey was still in Destiny’s Child. They eventually married in 2008 and even showed up in each other’s songs, including the 2003 hit “Crazy in Love,” followed up by “Drunk in Love” 10 years later. Despite dealing with a physical elevator altercation and infidelity affairs that Jay-Z ultimately admitted to (and hints at in both of their music), they started a family and now have three kids. Still, rumors persist, but some say it’s all part of a publicity strategy to boost ticket sales for tours.
Faith Hill & Tim McGraw
These country music stars have been married the longest out of everyone on this list and got married back in 1996, just a few months after a backstage proposal at a music festival. But gossip about a divorce has come up more than a few times, with Faith telling People, “I don’t know why ‘happy’ can’t be a story.” Tabloids reported an alleged “$200 million divorce,” but through it all, they’ve stayed together through the years and raised three daughters together.
Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani
Unlike many of the stars here who have had their love stories play out on social media, Gwen and Blake are one of the rare ones that had their courtship play out nationwide on television and in front of a live audience when they were judges on the NBC show “The Voice.” From the beginning, their chemistry and banter were evident, and while they finally tied the knot, they’d faced relationship rumors about marital disharmony even before getting married. Regardless, they’re still together and have started a homestead on a farm.
Nick Jonas & Priyanka Chopra
Despite initially raising eyebrows due to their age difference, these two have stood the test of time and now have a daughter together. Nick slid into Priyanka’s DMs after a little back and forth on Instagram, they met up, and sparks exploded. In 2018, they got married, and in 2022, they had their daughter, Malti Marie. But today, people wonder if they’ll get a divorce, with a 2026 Golden Globes stoking the rumor fire once again. In 2026, Priyanka told Variety, “We’re eight years in. If people want to keep waiting for it to implode, that’s their choice. I stopped thinking about it. I don’t know what it was about us that rubbed people the wrong way.”
Carrie Underwood & Mike Fisher
This country star and her retired hockey star husband have been together since 2008 and married since 2010. They currently have two children and appear to be content, however, sources indicate that there are numerous warning signs that will eventually cause their relationship to deteriorate. A source told OK! Magazine that Mike wasn’t happy Carrie extended a Las Vegas residency and that his traditional values didn’t align with Carrie putting her career over being a wife and mother.
Justin Timberlake & Jessica Biel
These two have a long history after they met at a birthday party in 2007 and got married in 2012, but Justin has gone through his own hardships, including a DWI charge in 2024, which he pleaded guilty to, and an attempt to stop the video of the arrest from going public. Their marriage has suffered as a result, with a source telling Radar Online, “Everyone around them can see the marriage isn’t working. It’s reached the point where friends are saying this limbo just isn’t healthy anymore. They’ve basically been living separate lives, and it shows.”
Will Smith & Jada Pinkett Smith
These two have been notorious for their unconventional marriage, and they can’t seem to get the rumors away from them, whether it’s a situationship with an R&B singer or the slap heard around the world. They married in 1997 and had two children together, but secretly separated in 2016 and have been living their own lives since. The arrangement had people asking questions about whether the two only remained married for financial reasons, with one source telling Globe Magazine, “They realized that splitting up for good would be very bad for business.”
