Charmed has developed a cult following, especially after the streaming services became commonplace. The supernatural drama series originally starred Shannen Doherty, Alyssa Milano, and Holly Marie Combs as the magical sisters Prue, Piper, and Phoebe Halliwell, known as the Charmed Ones. After Doherty was done with her role at the end of Season 3, Rose McGowan joined as the long-lost sister Paige, completing a new trio for the remaining five seasons.

1. Shannen Doherty
Shannen Doherty starred as Prue Halliwell in the first three seasons of Charmed before being killed off in the Season 3 finale. Initially claiming she left voluntarily, Doherty later revealed that she and Alyssa Milano had squabbles, ultimately leading to her departure. Known for drama from her time on Beverly Hills, 90210, her reputation took a hit. In 2015, the actress was diagnosed with breast cancer, which she bravely fought for years, and in 2023 she underwent brain surgery. Despite her health struggles, she continued acting, with a role in Darkness of Man in May 2024. Tragically, her publicist confirmed her passing on July 13, 2024, at age 53, closing a chapter filled with both triumphs and controversy.
2. Lisa Robin Kelly
Lisa Robin Kelly, known for her roles in Charmed and That ’70s Show, passed away in 2013 due to drug intoxication. Before her breakout role, she appeared on Days of Our Lives and guest-starred in shows like Married… with Children and Charmed. Kelly’s time on That ’70s Show ended in 2003 due to addiction struggles, and although she was briefly recast in Season 6, she never fully returned to acting, appearing only in two short films afterward. Her passing marked a tragic end to a once-promising career.
3. Billy Drago
Billy Drago, who played the demon Barbas, died from a stroke in 2019 at age 73. He first appeared in Season 1 and was a recurring villain throughout the series. Drago also starred in Pale Rider and The Untouchables, and took on supernatural roles in Demon Hunter and Ghost Town. While he often portrayed sinister characters, those who knew him described him as sinister on-screen and sweet off-screen.
4. David Carradine
David Carradine, known for his role as Tempus, died in 2009 at age 72 from accidental asphyxiation. Despite appearing on Charmed, Carradine was better known for playing Shaolin monk Kwai Chang Caine in Kung Fu, earning Golden Globe and Emmy nominations. His iconic performance as Bill in Kill Bill showcased his talent in Americana, leaving a lasting impact on television and film despite personal struggles.
5. Zitto Kazann & Jeff Corey
Zitto Kazann and Jeff Corey portrayed Council members in Season 2 of Charmed, where they nearly killed Prue before the sisters came in and kicked their butts. In Season 3, the original actors were replaced by the Triad. Kazann, who died in 2021 at 90, starred in Waterworld and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, among other projects. Corey, who passed in 2002 at 88, was an acclaimed character actor recognized for Little House on the Prairie and for voicing Silvermane in Spider-Man: The Animated Series.
6. Henry Gibson
Henry Gibson played the Sandman in Charmed before being killed off by a demon. Gibson passed away in 2009 at 73 due to cancer complications. A versatile entertainer, he was known for his work on Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In, writing and performing quirky sketches.
7. Matthew McGrory
Standing at 7 feet 6 inches, Matthew McGrory was the tallest actor recognized by Guinness World Records. He passed away in 2005 at age 32. After leaving law school to pursue acting, he had roles in Malcolm in the Middle and Men in Black II before portraying Karl the Giant in Big Fish. McGrory also appeared as an ogre in Charmed and played supernatural characters in Carnivàle and Constantine. At the time of his death, he was working on a biopic about Andre the Giant, a role that held personal significance for him.
8. Charles Robinson
Charles Robinson guest-starred as Mike, a man stuck in a time loop, in the episode Show Ghouls. His most prominent role was that of a court clerk Mac Robinson in Night Court series, airing from 1984 to 1992. Robinson also appeared in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, This Is Us, and many others. He passed away in 2021 at age 75 due to cardiac arrest and complications from septic shock and cancer.
